Chi Chie Electric Company (CCECO) was established in 1979, as a special manufacturer of exothermic welding materials for electrical grounding and connection systems. The product, under the brand name EXOWELD, has passed Taiwan Power Company’s Type II Test (IEEC 837 equivalent) in 1981 for construction of major industrial projects in Taiwan. In 1987, CCECO had joint ventured with a leading international exothermic welding manufacturer in U.S.A. as the manufacturing base for their Asian market. In 1993 CCECO partnered with another US Company to produce chemical rod for grounding application in harsh geological conditions.

CCEC’s EXOWELD exothermic connection system has been certified by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL File E305374) in 1999, and UL - ISO 900—A9061 QC certificate in 2000.

Furthermore, in 2016, the manufactured EXOWELD exothermic weld connections have passed IEEE 837-2014 Qulification Tests by the Powertech Labs Inc. of Canada..

The exothermic welding metals that CCECO produced have been widely used in Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, India, Hong Kong. The market also extends to Australia and the U.S.A.
